Warrior of Light

Spoiler

WoL.jpg

Glitches related to WoL:
Dayflash (midair) during EX mode, instead of gaining a Magic block effect, WoL is covered by a Melee Low priority "hitbox". Eg. If Dayflash (midair) whiffs, and the opponent attacks WoL with another Melee Low priority move, say Hop Step, both characters will be staggered (weapon clash).

Ultimate Shield during EX mode does not benefit from Mirror Attack. No Magic Block effect at startup/cooldown.

The 2 booster skills do not stack. Casting a new buff will always overwrite the old one, no matter it's the same or not.

Effect of Weapons

  • Excalibur: Double damage
  • Excalipoor: damage = 1
  • Naginata: Longest reach, normal damage
  • Zantetsuken: low chance of instant Break to opponent, but you won't get any Brv from the Break, normal damage
  • Masamune: Long reach, produce more EX force (additional 18 EX force on each hit), weaker damage *1
  • Genji Katana: EX gauge depletion, weaker damage *1
  • Battle Axe: Short reach, random damage on each hit *2
  • Chicken Knife: Short reach, increase damage at lower HP *3

Weapon Damage
The effect of weapons modify the damage multiplier instead of the final damage.

*1 Multiplier x0.75, round down to nearest integer, minimum = 1.
*2 Either x0.25 OR x1.75 (+-75%) to multiplier, no in-between, round down, min=1.
*3 From no bonus at full HP, to +120% (x2.2) at 1 HP, Multiplier x [1 + 1.2 x (Max HP - current HP)/Max HP ] round down.

EX Mode effect
He gains additional hits for all this weapon attacks, the hits are of the base power (multiplier) of 1 or 2. I have yet to find out the exact number of hits as it varies alot due to character position and length of weapons. Usually you get around 6 to 10 extra hits for any attacks.

=================================================
From an Famitsu interview of DDFF's Battle Director 鯨岡武生:

Weapon's Drawing probability:
Excalibur, Excalipoor, Zantetsuken, Genji Blade = 10%
Naginata, Masamune, Battle Axe, Chicken Knife = 15%

EX Mode pattern probability:
8x same weapons = 45%
4x 2 weapons = 45%
random weapons = 10%
=================================================

Gilgamesh as Assist
He will only use Excalibur or Excalipoor when doing Assist attack, 50% each.
Making it both the highest and lowest damage Assist attack in the game, just like his EX brust.

Terra Branford

Spoiler

Terra.jpg

Thanks to LonelyGaruga on pointing it out that Fire's explosion is Unblockable.

Kefka Palazzo

Spoiler

Kefka.jpg

Some notes:
Yes, Lickety-Split Thundaga (bolts in straight line) drops in power in EX mode, but like his other attacks, its EX version is very likely to land in more hits.
EX Zap-Trap Thundaga (random bolts) changes from the previous game. It now behaves like its normal version, with added little tracking. Each bolt still appears randomly, but before the hit box comes out, it moves towards the opponent for a bit. Hence higher chance of hitting.
EX Meteor does not need any ground to bounce off.
EX Ultima is still the fastest attack in the game

Cloud Strife

Spoiler

Tifa Lockhart

Spoiler

Tifa.jpg

EX Mode effect: Premium Heart:
Again this bonus modifies the skill damage multiplier,
[Damage Multiplier x (1 + current EX%)] round down to nearest integer

since you will never have full EX during EX mode, the max boost you get is
(Damage Multiplier x2) -1
and at around 10~20% EX, you get no damage boost at all.

Ultimecia

Spoiler

Ultimecia.jpg

ppponent will be released if you start another Time Crush while they are still trapped by the previous one.

Glitch/Bug related to Ultimecia
Apocalypse, as listed is Ranged High Priority, behaves strangely when blocked.
When it crushes a normal block, there is no "Defense Crush" appears on screen.
When using Omni or Jecht Block etc to block it, Apocalypse disappears but counters could not be used, or after-lag of Jecht Block could not be cancelled.

Jecht

Spoiler

Jecht-1.jpg

Some common combo damage (all uncharged):
Jecht Rush O, O, ^+O = 4+9+10+19 = 42
Jecht Stream O, O, O = 4+7+10+19 = 40
Jecht Stream O, O, v+O = 4+7+10+19 = 40

Jecht Rush > UJS = 4+9+10+18 = 41
Jecht Stream > J.Blade = 4+7+10+10 = 31
Jecht Stream > T.Grasp = 4+7+10+10 = 31

Shantotto

Prishe

Spoiler

Prishe.jpg

Skillchain
When calculating her attack damage (multiplier), simply add two attacks power together, and if they will produce a SC, add another 5.

Although Prishe can do many different SCs (8 I think?), they are all the same technically. They are an extra hit with a base power of 5 (crit possible), appear in about 0.5sec (no exact timing here ) after the last hit of the combo, and no other effect. The damage of the attacks leading to the SC does NOT matter, the bonus SC damage will always be the same, or double when crit. For double SC in EX mode, the second SC also does another 5 base power damage.

SC is somehow glitchy and will not apply the damage under 2 situations from my testing:
a) Wall Rush too soon - as mentioned, the SC hit appears after the last hit with a little delay. If the opponent hits the wall before it appears, the damage is not taken (the text box showing the name of the SC still appears tho). Probably due to the invincible frame when they are wallrushed.
As a side note, the SC damage does not affect the wallrush damage, for example:
100 (damage of last hit) > 48 (SC damage) > 25 (wall rush damage)
b) Spinning Attack - when the combo is ending with Spinning Attack, it has a high chance (around 50% from my testing) that the SC damage will miss. My guess is that the SC hit box appears at a bad position due to bad programming, the opponent is knocked out of range by the attack.
Combining that Spinning Attack causes wall rush too, it is VERY likely that the SC will miss.
BUT, during double SC in EX mode, the first SC hit will become sure hit because the opponent won't be hit as far as normally for you to chain in the 3rd attack. Too bad the 2nd SC is still easy to miss.

Vaan

Spoiler

Vaan.jpg

*1 It does random damage, the first 6 hits random between 1~2, the last hit randoms between 1~13, hence the (min~max) as shown
*2 The first 4 hits do random damage like normal version, between 1~5 each
*3 First hit: non/half charged=Melee Low, full charged=Melee Mid. Second hit always Melee Mid.
*4 The tornado stays on field for around 4 sec (240F+)

A note on (Switch) Katana, you will not want to do the second O input early, or the big damage (30) hit won't come out. Even without the last hit, it is already Vaan's strongest BRV attack (42), but if you missed the big damage, the most you could get would be (20). I would say risk on missing the last hit, rather than risk on missing the big hit

Gabranth

Spoiler

Gabranth-1.jpg

** Bad news, EX Charge is affected by "EX Force Absorption" on the negative side. i.e If you are equipping accessories that have EX Force Absorption -X%, EX charge will give you less EX. If you stack up to more than -100% absorption, EX charge become useless. Sadly, EX Force Absorption +X% will not boost the effect of the skill.
